Today we are four days into 2026, I have noticed that so many people are hoping for a better year than 2025. I have read online that people hoped for improved health, improved financial stability, and better relationships with family members. I think we all know that hoping for success in any of these areas will not accomplish the task of improvement of any of the above listed items. I believe that is why so many resolutions are abandoned early in the year. Please don’t think that this is a harsh self improvement site, where I am telling you how I have succeeded in these areas to make myself happier. Instead I am the king of self improvement resolutions that have not changed anything in my life by December for many of the past years.
Here is my plan that I have implemented in the my life that I believe has led to my improved happiness for the past three years into the new year. Believe that nothing will change if I don’t change something, I must take action. I believe that even small acts of improvement can be used to have significant gains by December. This is a big part of my process, remember what you want to change, or improve and find a small way to move toward your goal today. I don’t solve the problem today I take a small step to change my life for the better today.
Why is working toward a goal to improve yourself, your financial situation, or improve a relationship important in the overall happiness of this guy? I find that when I make an improvement in my ordinary life, I get motivated to improve other aspects of my life that I never intended to touch. By December I realize where I started and where I am now, I can see the progress and that makes me feel accomplished, and happy.
